The President of the Board of Directors of TUSIAD, Muharrem Yilmaz, resigned on June 4, 2014. Mr. Yilmaz has successfully served as Vice President (2010-2012) and President of the Board of Directors, contributing considerably to TUSIAD’s national and international credibility. During his tenure, Mr. Yilmaz has taken exemplary steps to strengthen civil society in Turkey and promote the institutional advancement of the business world. TUSIAD thanks Muharrem Yilmaz for his service.
The TUSIAD Board of Directors convened in an emergency session on June 10, 2014 and elected Haluk Dincer as President, in accordance with it’s bylaws and institutional culture. We wish success to Mr. Dincer on his new position.
Biography of Haluk Dincer, President of the Board of Directors of TUSIAD
Haluk Dincer is President of the Retail and Insurance Group of Sabanci Holding. Dincer also serves as President of the Board of Directors of CarrefourSA, TeknoSA, AvivaSA and Aksigorta companies.
Dincer began his career in 1985 in the United States as project engineer at General Motors Technical Center. In 1995, Dincer joined the Sabanci Group and has served in various senior executive positions in the automotive, food and retail sectors.
Haluk Dincer has also served as President of DEIK/Turkish American Business Council, Vice President of TUSIAD, Member of the Board of Directors of the American Turkish Council (ATC) in Washington and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Turkish Society (ATS) in New York. Dincer has also represented Turkey at the B-20 business summit on multiple occasions.
Dincer earned a Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Dincer is married to Suzan Sabanci and has two children.
