Discover Corporate America Program
In 2006 and 2007, the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD) initiated a program entitled “Discover Corporate America” in order to give its members an opportunity to meet their corporate counterparts in the U.S. and expose them to topics related to innovation and research and development in the U.S. corporate sector, at U.S. research institutes, and at U.S. universities.
Specific areas of interest within these general themes included: the organization and operation of R&D activities; the incentives used; the facilities provided; and the commercialization of innovations. Depending on the specific nature of each company, organization, and/or industry, other related topicswere added to this list. A typical company visit involved briefings by host company executives, aquestion and answer session, and a tour of the company’s research labratory and/or operational facilities.
